Abstract

We have investigated the serum antibodies of 107 patients with extra-intestinal amebiasis and 72 control subjects without demonstrable infection with E. histolytica. It was shown that by means of countercurrent immuno-electrophoresis and indirect hemagglutination, scintigraphy and taking into consideration the clinical picture, the diagnosis of extraintestinal amebiasis can be made with the necessary high degree of probability.
