Abstract
A survey of 337 patients with acute toxoplasmosis and 198 uninfected (seronegative) persons showed that 42% of the infected patients had consumed raw meat and 19.9% had had close contact with cats in comparison to the uninfected persons with 21% and 6.7% respectively. These results support the view that raw meat consumption and cat faeces are significant infection sources.
