Abstract
With initial pilot plants, the Department for Applied Technology of VEW Energie AG, had already demonstrated from 1984/1985, that apartment ventilation systems with heat recovery in conjunction with complete system solutions, as an active procedure, can also provide a considerable saving of energy even in the existing stock of buildings. The question arises as to the extent by which the procedures are economically sensible from the overall viewpoint.
