Abstract

A wideband, MAC-compatible HDTV transmission system is under construction at the Research Institute (FI) of DBP TELEKOM, Darmstadt. The overall system parameters, the basic processing techniques as simulated and optimized by computer simulations and the hardware modules implemented are discussed. The satellite transmission environment as given by the German national satellite system 'Kopernikus' in the 20/30 GHz frequency band is described.
