Wavelet transform at oriented basis for network traffic forecasting

Abstract

In this article the network traffic forecasting preprocessing based on wavelet transforms is considered. The analysis of network traffic as time series was made. The data preprocessing using new wavelet transform was proposed. Application of the two types of wavelet transforms for data preprocessing (Oriented Basis and Haar) was analyzed. Results regarding the feasibility of wavelet transform type depending on application are presented.
