Abstract
Heating devices with low-power premixed combustion are susceptible to thermoacoustic instabilities. This can lead to excessive noise emissions and may cause uncontrolled combustion. With the one-dimensional network model method, the thermoacoustic stability behaviour of a given combustion system can be predicted. It is based on simple analytic relations and allows one to draw passive stability measures in early design stages. In this article the functionality and applicability of the network model method is shown for a given heating device used in mobile homes.
