Abstract

More than half of the building activity in Germany affects existing buildings. A considerable increase of the efficiency of the construction works on building stock could be achieved by an intensified use of prefabrication. For this purpose an exact and cost-effective measuring technology is needed, which is able to provide stock data for the digital process chain. The goal of the project was to demonstrate how computer aided planning and prefabrication can be realised by using modern surveying technologies together with special measuring software. Three test objects were surveyed using different measuring techniques. The results of these measurements were evaluated and comparative studies made. Finally, the measured data were transformed into a CAD-model. Accurately fitting insulation panels for one of the testing objects were built on the basis of this model and fixed without any modification. Vacuum insulation panels (VIP) were chosen, as prefabrication is mandatory here. Once established, the hermetic cover must by all means survive. Reworking or an adjustment on the building site is impossible.
