Abstract

Calcium transients in the brain of adult transgenic zebrafish expressing GCaMP5G were monitored with optoacoustic tomography. Optoacoustics can visualize neural activity at penetration depths and spatio-temporal resolution scales not covered with the existing neuroimaging modalities.
