Abstract
If we look ahead in the future of the next 15 years of visceral medicine we are facing various duties. In the first place we will have to figure out more intersections of gastroenterology and visceral surgery. Minimal Invasive Interventional Visceral Medicine might be one of these. Herewith flexible and rigid endoscopy might be unified and will co-operate with several technical disciplines (e. g. computer science, medical and technical engineering, mechatronics, etc.) in order to develop and test instruments and methods for the patients and physicians good. We are aware of the upcoming tightrope walk between the technical progress and problematic economic tidings and are confident that these difficulties are going to be handled.
