Abstract

This article focuses on the visual analytical approaches for exploring the dynamics of lightning data. The spatio-temporal clustering of individual lightning events can reveal lightning clusters and trajectories which represent a specific type of moving geoobjects, namely the spatially extended objects or phenomena. Several visual analytical solutions are offered for exploring and comparing the movement complexity of lightning trajectories.
