Abstract
By use of double-resonance spectroscopy with intense tunable picosecond pulses in the infrared, vibrational energy transfer is investigated in the CH-stretching region of some polyalkenes. Rapid energy redistribution with time constant <5 ps and lifetimes T1 = 17-36 ps are reported. A dominant role of the CH3 groups for the population decay is suggested by the experimental data.
