Abstract
Increasing demands on the manufacturing accuracy of production machines face economy and science with the issue not only to dominate the process itself but also the interaction with the workpiece and its reaction. Welding processes in particular have significant mechanical process-structure-interactions, which influence the final distortions. Using the example of the laser beam welding it will be shown, how the residual distortions can be calculated more effectively by combining different computation methods and how these can be reduced.
