Abstract
A sheet pile wall placed in the upper section of a singlephase diaphragm wall provides horizontal water tightness down to large depths and resistance against horizontal earth and water pressure in the upper part of the wall. Special analytical calculations are proposed to provide vertical equilibrium. They yield the necessary compressive strength of the suspension for every stage of excavation. As an example the monitoring of the necessary strength of the cement-bentonite-slurry is shown of an actual project.
