Abstract

Pull-out tests performed in a slipform construction and in ordinary formwork in the laboratory in Utting had shown more unfavorable results when a slipform construction was used than in the case of an ordinary formwork. In the discussion of these results it was decided that the bond behavior of the reinforcement bars determined by means of pull-out tests of test specimens produced in a laboratory cannot simply be transferred to lap splices in a construction. Rather, further tests were necessary, namely tests on lap splices beside pull-out tests; and both tests to be carried out with test specimens sawed out of walls built on a site in Berlin and Cologne with slipform construction. As in Utting, samples for comparative tests were to be taken from walls which were at the same time in an ordinary formwork. Finally, conclusions drawn from these results should be worked out as recommendations for practical work . In this paper the tests performed, the results obtained, and the recommendations prepared are described.
