Abstract
Summary: The integration of mechanical, electronic and IT functions to form mechatronic systems opens up new market potential. However, this integration not only enables advantageous product characteristics but also leads to a higher level of product complexity. In order to nevertheless enable the rapid and flexible development of high quality products, the product development process must be adapted to meet the requirements of mechatronics.
