abstract = "The regional farm structures and mechanical equipment as well as differences in procedural sequences during plant production have major influences on the operating times of the machines used on an agricultural farm. If time-related fuel requirements for individual part times of the machines are taken into account, the single effects of efficiency measures on the fuel requirement of the entire production process also become clear. The paper outlines the development of an agent based process model for the determination of machine operating times on arable farms under consideration of the local conditions. After a description of the structure, the application of the simulation model is shown exemplarily in the process step of grain harvesting.",
