Abstract
Based on the problem of fire blight control in organic fruit growing several products, which are common in organic farming, were evaluated for their efficacy against apple blossom infections by Erwinia amylovora. After treatment with Myco-Sin and Ulmasud the disease index was significantly lower than in the inoculated control. This effect had been observed in various field trials conducted over a period of two years. Presently there is little known about the mode of action. However, preliminary results suggest that accumulation of phenolic acids in apple leaves may occur after treatment with Myco-Sin and Ulmasud.
