Abstract
We tried to classify the ingested meat stomach contents of deceased persons. It seems possible to differentiate the meat of mammals from poultry. On ultrathin SDS pore-gradient gel electrophoresis as well as on IEF in immobilized pH gradients reproducible differences could be shown. Contrary to mammalian meat, chicken meat shows protein bands on SDS electrophoresis at a molecular weight ranging from 80 to 100 x 103 Daltons and from 16 to 17 x 103 Daltons. On IEF we have seen at pH 4.3 a double-band for chicken meat only. Statistical analysis is not possible at the present stage of investigation.
