Abstract
The article presents results of tests on the dynamics of vehicle handling with the Audi Quattro featuring four-wheel drive. A comparison was also made with other vehicles having different drivetrain configurations. In the overall evaluation of test findings that the use of four-wheel drive in the Audi Quattro has brought with it a substantial gain in dynamic performance, giving it a lead in most of the test maneuvers. Tractive force and acceleration are much better than is the case with vehicles having other drivetrain configurations. The Audi Quattro's road-holding during acceleration in curves is especially good since it requires only slight steering compensation even during extreme linear acceleration.
