Abstract
Urinary proteins were electrophoresed on an ultrathin SDS pore-gradientgel and coloured with a silver stain. The protein concentration had been adjusted to 100-300 mg/l. There are several advantages compared to the gelrodmethod by Boesken: samples are easier to prepare, first results are available after 4 hours already, a higher number of samples can be examined simultaneously, lower amounts of proteins can be detected and comparison of separations is easier.
