Abstract

A possibility for increasing the boundary drawing ratio in deep drawing is seen in the method by which the product from the coefficient of friction and from the holddown force is decreased by reducing the holddown force. The report concerns tests aimed at increasing the boundary drawing ratio by means of a holddown force that is variable across the drawing path. A model concept has been developed which allows to preset optimized holddown pressure curves in practical operations.
