Abstract

The increasing demand for bandwidth in data communication motivates the development of low-cost and high-speed optical links. In this paper, we present a single-polarization vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser designed for 3D photonic integration on a silicon-on-insulator platform and electronic integration in an active optical cable.
