Abstract

We report on the development of a thin-disk based multipass amplifier operating at 1 kHz repetition rate. The chirped pulse amplifier delivers 600mJ pulses before compression. A Joule-class laser source with sub-ps pulse durations is currently under construction using further amlplifier stages.
