Abstract
The TNL 1-3 G, a new third generation 2. 048 Mbit/s transmission line equipment is scheduled to be put into service by 1986. The present article sets forth the major improvements brought about by this new equipment with respect to previous generation systems before describing its basic features and principle of operation.
