Abstract

Tests were carried out on thin plates either reinforced or prestressed with textiles. The textiles had a warp knitted structure with 10 mm mesh size. The two materials AR glass and carbon behaved completely different in the four-point bending experiments. Pull-out tests with acoustic emission measurements showed clearly that the different bond behaviour was the cause for such differences.
