Abstract

It is well known that rotor dynamics can be efficiently influenced by suitable electromagnetic forces if sufficient measurement information is available. An elegant solution is given by combining the noncontacting displacement-velocity-sensors and the bearing itself into one unit. This bearing-sensor-unit with satisfactory input/output characteristic can be performed. The application in the area of actively controlling the vibrations of an asymmetric multibody rotor is demonstrated.
