Theoretical and practical accuracy of photogrammetric control networks.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Reviews the present state of efficiency of photogrammetric methods, as far as high precision applications for control determination are concerned. In the first part the main results of theoretical investigations on the accuracy of rigorously adjusted block coordinates are presented. In the second part, some institutions are named which have already executed photogrammetric densification projects. Two representative block adjustments, performed at the Munich Technical University, are discussed in more detail. In these cases, the accuracy of the determined densification points could be estimated by means of a sufficient number of check points. With the first project an average planimetric accuracy of 17mm was obtained from a block adjustment of 93 images at a photo scale of 1:3 300. The second project concerns height densification from a photo scale of 1:8 000, where an average height accuracy of 64mm was reached. -IfAG 1980/948
