Abstract
Using the focussed output of a pulsed laser imaging system, spatially resolved modifications of an oxide surface were carried out. Photocurrent maps of these modifications using both supra- and sub-bandgap photons are presented. By employing the electroplating of copper as a test system, the different reactivities of the laser modified areas is demonstrated. SEM micrographs and backscattering electron images were used to examine the surface morphology and the distribution of copper across the surface, respectively. The different imaging capabilities of supra- and sub-bandgap photons are demonstrated.
