Abstract
The spreading width Γ↓ for a special rotational doorway state in 159Dy is calculated and found to be less than 32 keV. This means that an intermediate structure which originates from the doorway-continuum coupling (escape width Γ↑ ≈ 40 keV) cannot be smeared out by the doorway-hallway coupling.
