Abstract

The structure of excited states in 155Gd has been investigated using the (n, gamma ), (n,e-), (d,p) and (d,t) reactions. A total of 105 levels have been established for energies up to 1500 keV. Out of 454 primary and secondary transitions observed, 311 have been incorporated into a level scheme containing 64 levels. Sixty-five levels have been grouped into rotational bands built on 21 intrinsic states of both one-quasiparticle and quasiparticle-plus-vibrational character. The level scheme is believed to be essentially complete for energies up to 1000 keV for the location of levels with spins of 5/2 and smaller. The neutron binding energy of 155Gd has been determined to be 6435.17 (30) keV.
