Abstract

Grammitis marginella (Sw.) Sw. is reported from the Azores, Portugal, and thus for the first time from Europe. The Azorean plants are described as subsp. azorica subsp. nova. A key for the three Macaronesian species of the family Grammitidaceae (C.Presl) Ching is presented. Studies on the ecology of G. marginella and the related Ceradenia jungermannioides (Klotzsch) L.E.Bishop on Ilha das Flores, Azores are reported.
