Abstract
Companies require adequate instruments of capacity adjustment in order to react to variable demand in volatile markets. It is therefore the target of a project between a manufacturer of commercial vehicles and the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) of the Technische Universität München (TUM) to enable the assembly line to Orient the capacity to a changing demand by adapting the cycle time. The concept of cycle time scenarios was created for this purpose and evaluated in the context of a prototypic application.
