Abstract

This paper describes a technique of a comparative estimation of efficiency of a powerplant of the future hybrid vehicle on an early stage of design. For today big differences in specifications for hybrid automobiles exist. Due to the fact, that there is no reliable approach for evaluation of efficiency of different hybrid alternatives, there is no uniform procedure of car manufacturer industry. In the presented paper, on the basis of the system approach, an analysis of the technical and economical parameters, as well, as an estimation of the potential for increasing efficiency by various hybrid alternatives is being carried out. "Hybrid" in this context refers to a system consisting of an internal combustion engine and an electrical machine.
