Abstract

The transformation of a μ‐methylene‐dirhodium complex into a μ3‐methylidyne‐trirhodium complex (X‐ray structure analysis) has been accomplished in reaction 1 → 3. The first step is protonation of 1 to form the (isolable) μ‐hydrido complex 2. (Formula Presented.)
