Abstract

The donor properties of the phosphorus atom are only slightly poorer in phosphinite ions [R2PO] than in phosphanes R3P; the oxygen atom can also be coordinated. The phosphane‐gold1 phosphinite 12 which is stable to air, moisture, and heating up to 350°C, and the salt‐like compounds 2, RMe, Ph, represent new examples of this type. (Figure Presented.)
