Abstract
The research in sports traumatology has to focus on acute, overuse, and chronic injuries in all levels of sports athletes, because only few other areas of orthopedic surgery and traumatology have undergone such a dramatic evolution in the last 10 years. Sports surgeons need to be mindful of making decisions for the patient's long-term rather than a short-term rapid return to play.
