Abstract
High pressure Raman scattering experiments have been performed for Rb8Sn44□2 in order to investigate the pressure induced phase transition. At pressures of 6.0 and 7.5 GPa, Raman spectrum was drastically changed, indicating the phase transitions. The irreversibility of the spectral change and the disappearance of Raman peak observed at 7.5 GPa strongly suggest the occurrence of irreversible amorphization.
