Abstract
(Figure Presented) Nanosized long-periodic stacking sequences are formed by polytypic transformations that are initiated by partially substituting Bi for Sn in the close-packed structure of BaSn3. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction and TEM investigations show that temperature-dependent interlayer-ordering processes lead to repeat units beyond 10 nm (see TEM image).
