Abstract

The behaviour of laminated glass is usually tested with specimens supported on two or four sides. There exists very little information on the structural behaviour of laminated glass with other support conditions. Therefore bending tests were carried out with point-supported and clamped laminated glass under different temperatures (0°C-60°C), and with two different glass thicknesses. The results of the experiments were verified with finite element calculations. It was found that the composite behaviour varies between the different areas of the laminate (midsections, close to bearings). The influence on the design of laminated glass is discussed.
