Abstract
In further development of gas turbine combustion chambers, fuel spraying was investigated. The air-supported sprayer with liquid film in the nozzle (air blast nozzle) enables a reduction of the emission of noxious matter and shows favorable operational behavior. The basic mechanisms were investigated with models and test nozzles. The influences of the physical properties of the fuel, geometry and operational parameters on film formation and disintegration as well as the produced drop spectrum is clarified.
