Abstract
The Landau-Zener theory for nonadiabatic transitions is extended to incorporate stochastic processes in the transition region. An expression interrelating the transition rate and the velocity characteristic functional is derived. It shows an acceleration of the nonadiabatic transitions due to the stochastic motion for a wide range of coupling conditions and various models for the velocity fluctuations including correlated, uncorrelated and anticorrelated processes.
