Abstract
Robot manufacturers currently experience an increasing demand for industrial robots used for machining operations. Especially for processes with moderate accuracy requirements and low cutting forces Jointed-arm robots offer enormous savings due to their low investment costs and high flexibility. Compared to machine tools the working accuracy of these systems is quite low because of the high robot-compliance. This paper depicts a concept to enhance the milling-accuracy of industrial robots to open up new fields for robot based machining.
