Abstract
Aeroallergens are relevant eliciting factors of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and bronchial asthma, but also of atopic eczema (AE). The use of allergen-specific hyposensitization/immunotherapy (SIT) like in respiratory atopic diseases is controversial in patients with AE, but the results of pilot studies give rise to new approaches to this field. Large clinical studies in subgroups of patients with AE are necessary to evaluate safety and efficacy. This article reviews theoretical problems and practical results with SIT in AE.
