Abstract

We present a detailed spectroscopic study of terahertz difference-frequency nonlinear susceptibility in mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers using a room temperature broadly tunable double-Littrow external-cavity laser system. Experimental observation of optical rectification process in mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers is presented for the first time.
