Abstract

We developed a stepped frequency sythesizer for short-range wide-beam radar applications. It is shown how a direct digital synthesizer (DDS) can be used as signal source for low-range applications. Attention was put on the tuning speed as well as on high bandwidth, frequency resolution and costs of the system. For high resolution the system was designed in the K-Band at 24 GHz.
