Abstract

An experimental study was carried out to examine the role of water droplets concerning the restructuring of soot particles depending on their surface wettability. The experiments were carried out in a saturated steady-flow chambers (SSFC). The number concentration and size distribution of considered particles after interaction of soot particles with droplets were measured with an aerodynamic particle sizer. The structural parameters of soot aggregates were determined by transmission electronic microscope (TEM) analysis of agglomerates sampled from the SSFC with a thermoprecipitator (TP).
