Abstract

A soil leaching column chromatographic technique was applied to estimate and compare the leaching potential of herbicide atrazine and its three metabolites in soil. The capacity factor values of the four herbicides in the chromatography were measured, and were contrasted with mobility data from literatures. The correlations between logarithm of capacity values and octanol/water partition coefficient of the chemicals on soil columns and octadecylsilane columns were also compared.
