Abstract
For many companies, especially from the e-commerce sector, order picking systems are the essential business area to generate competitive advantages. Operators often have to expand or reduce existing systems. In this context, the question often arises whether the defined approaches of storage location, order batching & Co. continue to be the most effective alternative even in the changed environment. This work shows that some planning problems are influenced by the system size, others less.
