Abstract

This paper presents a control architecture that enables the interaction of humans and AI-based assistance systems for efficient machine control. The operation of large construction machines is considered as an application example. Large construction machines are mainly operated manually. The efficient machine control of large construction machines, such as excavators, cranes or grab machines, is extremely challenging, so that years of experience are often necessary. Artificial intelligence methods can be used to provide assistance functions on control architecture level that collect human experience and machine operating data and make them available to support machine control.
