Abstract

The aim of this study is to measure the forces acting on the bicycle in a field test and to build up testing equipment for fatigue tests. The knowledge about the acting forces is also used within finite element simulations combined with optimisation tools. The possibility to perform meaningful fatigue tests on bicycle frames and components enables manufacturers to develop lighter but nevertheless safer products.
